No offense, but "duh!". <big fat smile> :-)

Tomcat was originally a reference implementation, not a production quality
server. Even 3.1 isn't there at all. Only 3.3 is getting close to that and
it isn't even released yet. This has been stated about a bazillion times on
the mailing list. :-( I'm afraid that you simply wasted your time with
analysis of something that has been stated many times now.
