Come and get it! Finally!
It is still rough around the edges but we figured we'd
release and keep going. It's still far from perfect and
some of the docs are out of date.
I would like to mention that Craig McClanahan worked
all day trying to help me sort out some issues with
Catalina (yes! Catalina!). We wouldn't be releasing
a TDK today if it wasn't for him :-)
The docs are a little out of date, we didn't get
in a full login example, but there are two functional
examples that should help. We will try to get an
example login in very soon, and an admin app.
The biggest change is that the TDK is now using
Catalina or Tomcat 4.0. It is _very_ fast compared
to working with Tomcat 3.x. You no longer have to
wait 2 minutes for the first page to load.
To start Catalina you do the following:
./bin/catalina.sh [ run | start ]
When Catalina is up (which doesn't take long), you
can access the documentation here:
http://localhost:8080
There is one problem with Catalina in that your session
information is lost upon class reloading. Just keep
this in mind while testing. Catalina is so fast that
it is probably best just to kill it and restart it
if you need to reload your classes.
Please be patient, the TDK is far from perfect but
hopefully it will help :-)
