Catalina is what will be Tomcat 4.0.

It is JDK 1.2 and greater and supports the *latest* Servlet 2.3 and JSP
specs.

Most importantly, Catalina is what Apache JServ 2.0 was going to be and is a
servlet container implementation from absolute scratch (therefore it doesn't
have a lot of the excessive baggage that Tomcat 3.x has).
