The difference is mainly in the default options (SA, Genshi) and thus
templates for quickstart. But all patches to 1.0 go in 1.1 also. You are
right that at the moment their should be no other difference.

The idea is to release an 1.0.4 beta real soon and to be done with 1.0
branch and finally move to 1.1 which we will try to make an evolution
towards TG2 to ease migration.

As an example, removal of the active_mapper code (since it is deprecated
in SA) will occur in 1.1 and not in 1.0. This means 1.1 will go through
some instability period whereas 1.0 should stay as stable as possible
and in bug-fix only. This will make sure that people who are stuck with
and active_mapper based app somewhere will still be able to have some
level of support on a known version and will have time to upgrade (if
they whish so) without being in a rush.

At the same time I'd like to propose/discuss the drop of python 2.3
support in the 1.1 branch. Python 2.3 support is a burden and takes a
lot of efforts. I'll alsoe ask more publicly in the user list, but if
there is not real uproar we'll just drop it :)

I originally excpected to do a release of an 1.0.4beta during this
week-end but real life and work got me down on this :).

I'll read all pending tickets in trac and see if no real blocking one is
still pending, then we'll launch the 1.0.4b1 release process and
hopefully wait for the bugreports. I would like the beta process to last
for 1-2 weeks and then have a rock solid 1.0.4.

More one this tomorrow....too tired right now.

Cheers,
Florent.
