Could you show us the traceback?
Can you send me your save translated file so that I can take a look at it?

To come back to an earlier comment of yours: we did not add tests nor
dependencies on Babel in the i18n quickstart because i18n is an
option. But I remember a time when it was a dependency for Pylons, I
did not verify if it changed.
If they removed it maybe we should add this in the setup.py of the
quickstarted app so that people can easily remove it before production
deployment if they do not want to use it...
