There should be no merges. Maybe you have an old Mercurial version, I
have seen such strange things with older versions, too. Try upgrading or
if you give me admin rights on SF, I can upload the repos.

Yes, but Alessandro is right, after the migration the first thing should
be to get a 2.1.1 bugfix release out. 2.1 was released in a hurry and
there are some things that already have been fixed.
