Not to start yet-another-licensing thread, but if your concern is
source code disclosure, then so long as you're not modifying SQLObject
itself, the LGPL doesn't compel you to release your source code, even
in the case of interpreted languages like Python or Java.

The FSF itself clarified this last year after a rumor started
spreading that the LGPL was equivalent to the GPL for Java:
