This doesn't solve the FUD problem you have with investors. This is really a GPL marketing issue with the general population. I was concerned that there was some kind of specific LGPL legal problem. The good news is that you can use SQLAl and you will just have to learn more about TG.
Thanks for the explanation,

Before I start keep in mind that the following is my understanding and
is not endorsed by my company or it's investors or anyone else for that
matter.
This is how I understand it. The big issue with the GPL is that it
forces you to release any code you write that is based on GPL code. For
whatever reason, sometimes you just don't want to share your source
code. The LGPL tries to lessen this restriction so that people who
don't want to release their code can use an LGPL library. But to be
honest, the FSF has been so aggressive protecting the GPL and LGPL that
that the thought of using GPL or LGPL code gives most developers the
willies. Even if they could use LGPL code they don't from fear of being
attacked by the FSF lawyers. Especially small companies that don't have
the resources to fight ANY kind of litigation. To me the GPL/LGPL are
not open licenses. They are as restrictive as Microsoft licenses.
If you want to create an open piece of code that people can use for
whatever purpose then use the MIT, Mozilla, BSD, etc License. Stay away
from the GPL and LGPL.
