For working directly on a server I prefer vim in a terminal. It has
enough shortcuts to be able to leave the mouse untouched and to use
the whole screen for code.

Recently I bought Komodo IDE (after evaluating both komodo and wing)
and even though remote projects are implemented as an afterthought,
and it is a bit slow sometimes, I think it is a fine IDE. It offers
all that I need and even allows me to debug turbogears projects
remotely.
