I suppose. There were two fixes. First, I got rid of
the explicit /usr/local path. Second, I added the new
blit function, NondefectiveBlit, and used it.

Are things really too unstable for a 0.9.15 release?

You could just disable starter support for MacOS X.
Heck, you could do that for Linux and Windows too.
