Oh, honestly, Kevin, it was about as racist as an episode of "My Name is Earl." All Americans aren't redneck morons, and I don't think even the simplest viewer came away from TAR with the impression that Kazakhstan is full of colorful simple furriners who exist solely for our amusement and mockery. I knew nothing about the country before going in (sorry, but it's true!) and came out with a bit of appreciation for its culture and traditions. It's a shame that CBS couldn't have devoted an hour to their documentary "Almaty: 21st Century City on the Go!," but I guess that's just the nature of a television network that's trying to attract viewers. --Dave Sikula --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Like TV only smarter.
