With a $13B debt load (much of it from Sam Zell's $8.2B leveraged
buyout that made the Chicago-based media conglomerate private), the
Trib (whose holdings include one of the biggest television station
groups) has filed for Chapter 11--the Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field and
presumably the Trib's ownership share of Comcast SportsNet Chicago
(roughly equal with the owners of the White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks)
are not included:

It's appropriate that the link be to a blog started this year by Zell
and his lieutenants Randy Michaels and Lee Abrams designed to combine
breaking reports on local news from the Trib, WGN Radio, WGN-TV and
the CLTV local cable news channel, all Trib properties.
