As for Neil's performance in last night's episode. I noticed a unique
energy from the audience. They seemed to really be supportive of
Harris in anything he said or did, and generally unenthusiastic
towards the cast itself. Neil was killing during the monologue (he
even made me laugh), until a few of the cast members posed as
hecklers, at which point the laughter immediately died... replaced by
disdain. 

Me now:

Two problems with that monologue interruptions that I had.  
First, I could have written most of that crap, and I'm not that funny.  Maybe 
interrupt not with the undistinguished fraternity douchenozzles, but just 
Samberg's M. Wahlberg and Fred Savage.
Second, did the monologue need that?  No.  NPH was carrying that thing like a 
champ, not breaking a sweat, and they kill the momentum.  God, what a waste.

With the exception of the percussionists, the SNL squad is spectacularly 
unimpressive in faking the playing of musical instruments.
