Having just been in LA this week, I still refer to the 110 as "the 11"
or "the Harbor," the 710 as "the 7" or "the Long Beach," the 5 as "the
Santa Ana" -- and don't know what to do with the 105/Century, since it
was built after I left.

I've been told on more than one occasion that, up here in the Bay
Area, to use the article before the freeway name is a dead giveaway. I
don't care. I take the 1 to the 280 to the 237 to the 101 to work.
