Second City's a helluva lot better than it used to be. They worked
very hard on doing black/Latino/GLBTQ revues going--the GLBTQ people
are now on their own as GayCo and one of the founders of the diversity
program and a cast member who made it to mainstage are pre-Tompkins
"Best Week Ever" favorites Frangela. There's usually one black
performer in their two Chicago mainstage casts (can't guarantee about--
and right now, one of them, Christina Anthony, is getting a lot of
attention because she's playing Michelle Obama. I personally think
that if she got the proper shot, she could be the black Tina Fey--
she's got the presence, the looks and perhaps has more talent (girl
can sing). If only she didn't block me from Facebook friend
requests. :)
