I'll concede that point. I prefer to see the discussion about policy
rather than the political horse race implications or irrelevant
distractions. The dispassion some news hosts bring to the discussion
can suck the energy out of it, so that's why I would champion Dean.
But if I were to watch a news show done from the other side, even
strictly focusing on policy, it would probably still drive me nuts.

I consider Countdown a news show because it breaks enough stories for
me. I should add that I watched Dean's Countdown on Tuesday night.
When I saw the rundown of stories last night, I only watched one
story, about TV programming during the recession, and found it the
sort of noncommittal and uninformative stuff that caused me to give up
on the nightly network newscasts. I didn't see any of the Dean panel
segments as worth watching.
