I agree there are (and have been) atheist characters, the one that leaps immediately to mind is Dr. Greg House. But in any episode where it is mentioned, there is some sort of cheat in the script, some sort of unexplainable moment, where we, the viewers, are clued into the fact that deep down, deep deep down, we know God exists -- and so does the atheist character. -- Kevin M.
