I've watched Sunday night football a couple of times this year, the longest being the hour I watched last night. I gotta say I miss John Madden. Mainly, it's because I don't like Al Michaels. And Cris Collinsworth does little to balance Michaels. So it's too much Michaels and not enough reward from the non-Al Michaels air time. John Madden was a little like Johnny Carson, I think. He stayed too long and was a little bit of a self parody at the end. Still, he had great moments of entertainment and some good insight. Collinsworth seems too earnest, like he's trying to impress us. And it seems that Michaels just overwhelms the broadcast now. Maybe they should add a third person for comedy, a Don Meredith type? Bring back Dennis Miller? How are the non-Madden Sunday Night Football ratings?
