I don't miss Madden. He had one great ability through the years - he saw everything that was happening on the field so he didn't have to wait for a replay to know why a flag was thrown or a defensive lineman pulled down a runner behind the line of scrimmage. If there's one thing I can't stand during a game, it's when the booth guys are yapping about something and then when a flag is thrown, the play-by-play guy says, "Let's wait and see what the call is," or worse, keep on yapping through the ref's call so we can't hear what it was and ignore the penalty altogether. That said, Madden didn't add anything to the game either. The last two seasons I watched the game while catching up on podcasts with my iPod and the TV sound turned down. Michaels does a reasonably good job calling games and I like Collinsworth. Tom --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
