They might have thousands of Facebook friends so posting the pictures
with a note about not being invited could be spread around fast. As
they live in the DC area and are attention seekers, they could have
Facebook friends in the DC media, or even send an email blast to media
contacts with a link to the Facebook page.

It surprises me somewhat that they haven't been cited for breaking any
laws. Even if they intended no harm to the president, they
intentionally evaded security to gain access to an area they had no
business being in. The Post article says they're invited to a meeting
of the Homeland Security Committee without a subpoena ordering them.
There's no mention of a request for immunity in exchange for
testimony.
