One thing you can say about Dave, when he genuinely likes a movie, you
can tell - and he usually has pretty good taste (meaning it is similar
to mine).

I think the obscure authors and experts can and often do make for
interesting television - which in any kind of decent universe should
translate into good ratings. I don't mind the washed up comedians if
it seems like Dave is really friends with them at some level, rather
than repaying a debt to some Korean War army buddy that saved his life
50 years ago back in the shit. The race car driver parade is fine as
long as they are all named Danica Patrick.

But the list of guests Dave gets interested in is broader that what
you suggest here - it includes politicians and journalists, athletes
from other sports, and a decent list of actors. I don't really like
Regis, or Howard Stern, or Larry King, but all three are almost always
interesting on Dave.
