I think Conan did absolutely the right thing. I think it would be cool to see him in another venue or arena, even a weekly (but non-political) series on HBO (perhaps following "Real Time"?). He'll leave with dignity, and he is right that the blame for this mess does not rest on his shoulders. Accepting Leno into the 10pm slot killing not only that slot, but the local newscasts, and now the Tonight Show, too.
You know what would be really awesome? If Leno rejected the 11:35 timeslot, it would prove both hosts have dignity and class, while the network would be left with five hours of prime time and five hours of late night to fill, and Jimmy Fallon is incapable of doing either. -- Kevin M. (RPCV)
