Seriously, what is keeping Jay > at NBC? The devotion to his crew? It ain't the money. I think Jay has some pathological need to stay on the air till after Dave quits. I read an interview with Jay last year when he was feeling buyer’s remorse over his decision to leave the Tonight Show, and had just announced the plan to do the 10pm show. He said that when he made the decision back in 2004 to quit the Tonight Show in 2009 he fully expected Dave to be retired by then. It was a really strange thing to say, I thought, and I read it as him saying that if Dave was gone then he could finish up himself. Gary
