Lee Abrams, the former hotshot consultant (or "the man who killed free- form underground rock radio," depending on your view) and XM program director turned resident thinker at the Tribune Co. (and they need one, considering that Randy Michaels is running things), has declared to move the Trib TV stations away from the local news conventions that are as old as Ron Burgundy--his first attempt will be at Houston's CW affil KIAH, which starting in the fall will morph into "NewsFix," which will feature seemingly-raw footage and natural sound and not feature pricey reporters or higher-priced anchors:
