Pomplamoose, a music duo out of the San Francisco area.  From online videos 
they 
landed a song in a Chrysler ad and then appeared in a couple of Hyundai spots 
over this past Christmas season.  Music pretty much exclusive to iTunes and 
YouTube.

Yes to Bieber (and even Rebecca Black), not so much to Alyssa who
transitioned into other things using social networking.

People whose careers were either made or improved because of net based
exposure. Kevin Smith would be a good example from the world of film.
