If David E Kelley produces it, the female cop is guaranteed to walk in the rain and cry. Didn't "Cagney and Lacey" more or less write the book on female cops in the US, or am I missing some aspect of "Prime Suspect" that is hitherto unexplored on the American small screen? -- Kevin M.
