IIRC, "The Voice" was originally scheduled to start at 10pm E, but at some point NBC must have pushed a schedule change to listings providers, because both my TiVo and the GF's Xfinitiy DVR had the 10:30 start time. They may have been banking on overtime or the availability of losing-team interviews to fill that 1/2 hour.
DVR issues aside, I'm grateful that NBC didn't decide to vamp for the extra 12 minutes. One of my biggest gripes with FOX (as well as cable news stations) is their propensity to repeat information everyone knows (and to show the same replays over and over again) just to fill time. In general, I found NBC's presentation of the Super Bowl to be clean & professional, without the abundance of crowd shots at inappropriate times and/or football playing robots. -- TV or Not TV ....
