I thought the problem with the volume came when Maher moved the microphone away from his mouth. Maybe the sound engineer needed to compensate and didn't. I also thought there was a better way of capturing Maher in a way that acknowledged the large stage and still kept it intimate. Longer shots put in too much distance. I give Maher and Yahoo credit for putting it together. I don't understand the value of an exclusive live stream. Except for a couple of references to Wednesday's GOP debate, the topical material went way back and if Yahoo recorded the performance and offered it for on demand viewing nothing would be lost. I was disappointed by Maher's material. This is certainly a strange primary season, but Maher's jokes seemed like straight commentary without real punch lines. In the second half hour when he turned from politics to to some pop culture it got a little better until he got fixated on religion. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
