I still have to catch up properly on the first two episodes of Veep, but
Armando Iannucci can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned, having listened
and watched pretty much everything he's done over the last 20+ years. So
I'm more than happy to hear it's got a second season.

But does BBC America run The Thick of It unedited? It has some pretty
robust language in its original form, with some of the most creative
swearing anywhere on television.

The two specials don't need to be seen to make sense of the overall arc.
That's especially the case, since we have a new minister from series 3 (not
unrelated to an unfortunate, and somewhat unpleasant conviction on the part
of the actor who played the previous minister). That said, if you like the
series, the DVDs are well worth seeking out - assuming your machine is
multi-region and can handle PAL.

Series 4 has been filming recently, and may have completed shooting by now.
For the foreseeable future, Iannucci is going to be making a lot of
political comedy! I'd be tempted to suggest that it'd be good to link the
two series up were it not for the fact that that already happened with the
feature film In The Loop, and that Veep will air on Sky Atlantic in the UK
(who have a total output deal with HBO) rather than the BBC.
