It does seem that Today got itself into a bind of setting the expectation that the news reader was a path to eventually become a host. It is almost as if they felt obligated to make Curry the host because it was her turn, rather than because she was the best available candidate. I wonder if they promised Curry they would make her host if and when Vieira left to keep her from leaving when she was "passed over" to replace Katie, in order to avoid too much transition at a sensitive time? -- TV or Not TV ....
