IIRC from the last Canadian election, the networks geoblocked results from within their own country until the entire country's polls had closed, and it was at least theoretically illegal for any individual or company to communicate the results in areas where the polls hadn't closed yet (a law which I suspect is impossible to enforce.) -- David J.
