Part of what I meant by their apology being genuine is that KTVU
acknowledged that they made multiple mistakes, one of which was not asking
what the position was of the person they were talking to on the phone. The
implication of that is if they had known they were only talking to an
intern they would not have relied upon it as a confirming source.
