It is fair enough that none of the other NBC programs have to follow that edict, which as has been pointed out would verge on the absurd in some cases. BUT - what NBC can not do in such a case (and which I suspect they are trying to do) is to promote other programs, like Today, as if they are part of the "The Olympics" program. No doubt Today is trying to increase viewership by getting people who wake up in the morning and want to watch "The Olympics" (the fact that Lauer did the Opening March of Nations is testament to that). To the extent that Today or other NBC programs present themselves as part of "The Olympics" , is is a dick move to reveal the results (at the very least they should offer some kind of spoiler warning). -- -- TV or Not TV ....
