I think Craig won't be in the running for two reasons: first, Worldwide
Pants, Inc (WPI) own the 11:35 and 12:37 slots. As aprt of Dave's
retirement negotiation I am going to guess that CBS will get both slots
back. Ten years ago, when WPI was producing Everybody Loves Raymond and
other shows, there was some chance that WPI would want to continue holding
those slots as producers, but not today. So if Craig wanted to move to
11:35 or even stay at 12:37 it would have to be as part of the CBS system
with their choices of producers and directors.

The second reason Craig will not want the 11:35 slot is that he never saw
himself as a talk show host for the long term. When he began hosting the
LLS he openly talked to a lot of guests about his frustration about working
in movies, especially raising money. Ten years later he has some money in
the bank, a fan base, and he is going to be hosting Celebrity Name Game. My
prediction is that when Dave finishes with the LS Craig will finish with
the LLS, or at least play out his contract as a lame duck.

As for replacing Dave, I'm torn between Julie Chen and Katie Couric.
