One name that I am surprised to not see show up more in these conversations is Aisha Tyler. I remember people mentioning her back in 2010 on lists of who should replace Conan before Fallon got the nod, and I am surprised more people aren't suggesting her in the recent discussions. She doesn't have quite the name recognition of some others so she may be too risky for 11:30, but between her podcast, her standup skills, her stint on The Soup, and the 80,000 other things she hosts I think she would be a very solid choice even before you get to all the ways she would diversify late night.
(I should probably mention that I may have some bias as my wife was friends with her in high school. I have never actually met her as they have long been out of touch, but I have always had a soft spot for her for that reason.) - darren On Fri, Apr 4, 2014 at 1:50 PM, M-D November <[email protected]> wrote: > HuffPo TV is reporting that CBS courted Oliver to replace SCG in event he > didn't renew his contract, and Oliver passed: > www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/04/john-oliver-late-night-cbs_n_5091150.html?utm_hp_ref=tv&ir=TV- > so that ship has probably sailed. > > I honestly don't see Craig Ferguson moving to 11:30.
