I haven't seen a recent episode of the UK series, which I've always
preferred because it lacked the Darnell-isms (overly serious VO from
someone who wasn't Ramsey, smash-cut editing, etc.), so I'm not sure how
well that's aged. As for the US version, I'm not upset to see it end. The
most recent season spent too much time on the personalities of the owners
and not enough on the rehab of both the staff and the facility - and
relaunch is relegated to the last 3/4 of a segment. I'll miss it, because
it wasn't a competition show, but not much. Plus it'll run forever in
reruns on cable.
