Going by the adage that live TV is the only sure thing these days, CBS bought the rights to the Hollywood Film Awards ceremony and televised it Friday night for the first time (despite its sketchy history and the fact that the wife of the awards' founder was one of the "Barker's Beauties" who sued CBS and Fremantle over being fired from "The Price is Right" when Bob Barker was still hosting)--the Eye was in the unaccustomed place of tied for last in the money demo ratings (with its semi-sister network The CW):
