Because there are many on social media who believe those are unsettled issues, and who have presented what they claim to be evidence, Simon would be compelled to ask questions about every internet-born conspiracy. And I'm sorry, but that isn't what a journalist does. A journalist collects evidence, gathers sources, conducts research, verifies statements. Had he contacted Cosby's then agents, drivers, personal assistants, and others in his life at the time the events supposedly occurred, had he done any background on those making the accusations, had he done ANY actual journalism, he might then have been entitled to ask Cosby a question. But he didn't so he isn't. He had somebody in the room who was trending on social media, and decided to take advantage of it, and that isn't what a journalist does. -- Kevin M.
