To previous examples I have submitted here (WaPo, CNN) that, at least in the Age of Trump, real journalism can actually be profitable, we can maybe add CBS (maybe because not clear it is yet enjoying increased profitability but at least is getting noticed). Jeannie Sullivan (WaPo Media Columnist) has a nice piece on Scott Pelley's work as managing editor of The Evening News. Pelley has been my favorite of the three network news anchors (frankly, I dont even recognize the name of the ABC anchor) since he took over, and his no nonsense, no bullshit approach to 45 has been refreshing.
An example: (From Pelly's broadcast Feb. 7) -- “It has been a busy day for presidential statements divorced from reality. Mr. Trump said this morning that any polls that show disapproval of his immigration ban are fake. He singled out a federal judge for ridicule after the judge suspended his ban, and Mr. Trump said that the ruling now means that anyone can enter the country. The president’s fictitious claims, whether imaginary or fabricated, are now worrying even his backers, particularly after he insisted that millions of people voted illegally, giving Hillary Clinton her popular-vote victory.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/scott-pelley-is-pulling-no-punches-on-the-nightly-news--and-people-are-taking-notice/2017/03/26/9763bf7c-0e4a-11e7-9d5a-a83e627dc120_story.html?tid=sm_fb&utm_term=.58eb1b36a7fe -- Sent from Gmail Mobile -- -- TV or Not TV ....
