I finally watched the first episode. I liked it, but not enough that I
watched the second. There were some good jokes. Surprisingly, or maybe not,
the weak link in the cast is Roseanne Barr.. Okay, I don't expect her to
keep up with John Goodman or Laurie Metcalf. But she wasn't keeping up with
Sara Gilbert or some of the kids.
I mainly watched to see how they handled Sarah Chalke. It was probably
smart casting the original Becky to play the role again, because quite
frankly she looks worse for the wear. Chalke still has the Hollywood
actress glow.
It could be a situation where ratings erode so that by the last episode
they have an ordinary number of viewers. But even with a 25 percent drop in
the demo they are the 800-pound gorilla of Tuesday night and are showing up
in the weekly tally.
