People like what they like, but my experience is very different from yours, 
Kevin. My local NPR station is very similar to what it was a decade ago (for 
good and for ill) and at the same time the online offerings from the National 
NPR, both through their website and the podcasts, have what I see as lots of 
great new content that has given breadth and depth to the network. 

Even if they aren’t your cup of tea, I think that some of the newer shows 
(Bullseye, Ask me Another) are far better than “marginal”. And I’m not sure why 
you are dismissing the podcasts — I think Code Switch and Hidden Brain, not to 
mention the kids stuff, are all great additions, and I still like Pop Culture 
Happy Hour even though I think it has lost focus somewhat. Podcasting isnt 
broadcasting, but it is how many people listen now and it gives a space to do 
more interesting work.
