You liked it better than I did (though Peter Pan is the competition). Totally agree about the unnecessary audience reaction-but could that also be chalked up to a dress rehearsal audience composed mostly of family and friends being understandably over enthusiastic?
Also, it seemed like at least several of the actors relied entirely on lip syncing. Do you think that was planned all along, or is that a function of boo boos being tolerated at dress that they thought they would have a chance to do over live? I read several stories that suggested none of the TV musical productions have used understudies.
