An actor's political views should, of course, have no bearing on their work. I still enjoy Clint Eastwood films after all (maybe not some of his most recent stuff). And Midnight Cowboy is still a great movie too. But there should be a distinction between political beliefs and either perpetuating lies and intolerance. If I was casting a show today, I might think long and hard about casting Jon Voight in it as no doubt Hollywood has always thought long and hard about casting any actor who's perceived as a "troublemaker."
And you can bet that those Disney contracts will have riders about representing their values or whatever, that gives them a lot of leeway if people say or support truly disturbing things - outright racist, homophobic or whatever. Note that I've not read anything about Carano beyond this thread. And it'll be up to Disney how much further her character goes in the Star Wars universe. Given the legion of spin-off shows that The Mandalorian is generating, her character would have seemed ripe for starring in one of them. Perhaps she still will be a lead in Rangers of the New Republic, but then again, perhaps not. When social media came along, providing actors with a way to reach the public without intermediaries or PR people getting in the way, it presented them with a lot of benefits. But on the other hand, it's not so easy to clean up a mess the way a PR flack might try to "tidy-up" an ill advised comment in an interview.
