Sorry I screwed up.  Cable digital is NOT in ATSC standard.  Your tv needs 
to have a QAM tuner to get cable digital.  Many cable companies have 
unscrambled digital available.  Mine have not only local channels but some 
of the basic cable channels as well.  But you DO need a tv that has a 
QAM/Cable compatible tuner.  ATSC tuners will only get OTA digital.  That 
was my mistake.  This would explain your cable tv issues with the new TV. 
Many larger tvs made in the last year or so incorporate a QAM tuner in them. 
For sure if you set has a cable card slot in it - it WILL definitely have 
one of those tuners, as it is needed for the set to receive programming thru 
the cable card.
