I read the file u sent me and I also noticed the different baud rate. I came across this in one of the Q&A Sections of LFY magazine. If I am right, Sept 2007 issue. As I never noticed any difference in the speeds on Windows and Linux, I never got the thought of fiddling around with the wvdial.conf file. Besides, I am not too conversant with the configs.
