HiSaifi,
Thanks for your support for a newbie.
I have installed Ubuntu Desktop edition on my PC.
My problem is I am unable to install 3rd party applications like VLC Media
Player
etc..
Partitions are also a problem ??
Would you please help me out....
And these days I'm working on a project based on Network
simulator(ns2).
But to be frank I'm completely new to this concept and as far as my
knowledge goes
A network simulator is used to predict the behavior of network.
But I'm confused whether it is a program(a software ) or a hardware.
Any suggestions or references please let me know.
Please guide me through this project.......

  Thanks and regards

   Raghu
