IIRC, the Yast repo url are translated to the nearest server to your IP location; which may be slower than other servers further away. There has been a similar discussion on the opensuse mailing list. Experiment with a few opensuse repos and see which give you a better throughput; enter the URIs for these servers into your repo list. HTH -- Arun Khan
