Uh, yes you did. Following somebody = opt-in to receive *whatever* they want to send you. If the value of the crap they DM or tweet at you decreases, unfollow them. You can also follow people through RSS, or Search, or on TweetGrid in a group, all w/o officially following them on twitter.... -Chad
