As far as I can tell, CBC's 7 November 2025 article remains the only major
secondary source reporting the proposed change in Nunavik. At the time,
we'd flagged that as a bit thin on the types of details we'd need.
Reporter Samuel Wat clarified to this list in February 2026 that his
primary sources were community radio interviews and Facebook posts from
Makivvik staff:

Since then, Paul and I have continued to maintain private correspondence
with a staffer there on a periodic basis to try to get more information on
progress in their process, which was still in quite early stages at that
time.

At present, there's not much I can characterize publicly about where their
timekeeping plans may actually be headed, as the process has been fairly
slow compared to what we've recently seen elsewhere in Canada, and some of
the details remain unclear to us even now. But we've been in contact as
recently as a couple weeks ago and have been encouraging them to consider
communicating clear timelines, both to us and to the broader public and
media, as soon as they're ready to.

The continued uncertainty of whether and when timekeeping in Nunavik will
actually diverge from the rest of Québec is the main reason we've still not
yet moved forward with an America/Kuujjuaq zone for Nunavik, despite CBC's
inclusion of the proposed change in its recent reporting on related changes.
