The hooks are more or less in place now to at least enforce some of the security measures at the DB level now with triggers - what could/should happen with the CEO's wages is that the file could have a read trigger so that "stuff" you were not supposed to see isn't returned !
I'd also look at NOT letting you (or anyone) get access to TCL/ECL :-) I know/understand where you are coming from though .... whilst you CAN do these things with mv, you don't HAVE to --> with a REAL DB you can not break the rules .... ever ! and that isn't such a bad thing either. With mv you have to either roll your own, or buy a 3rd party suite that includes these facilities (typically as part of an "environment") ... and you still may come up "short", because people are "happy" to use an application-centric solution Ross Ferris Stamina Software Visage an Evolution in Software Development >-----Original Message----- >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:owner-u2- >[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeff Flynt >Sent: Tuesday, 18 May 2004 7:11 PM >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: RE: [U2] Cost of Oracle vs PICK > <SNIP> > >I see this as something that should be addressed.
